Resurrection Window, south aisle. Clothing/furniture/style suggests either original 15th century (in which case it would be the oldest glazing in the church) or Victorian Gothic revival imitation (to be confirmed). Legend reads : I am the resurrection and the life. Panel 1 shows Christ and a disciple raising male figure from the dead. Either Lazarus (Mary in foreground and Martha, preoccupied as ever, carrying a basket of fruit in the background) or the widow of Nain’s son in which case the identity of the basket-bearer is a mystery. Panel 2 shows Christ raising Jairus’s daughter (in bed wearing maiden’s garland on her head) with her parents looking on. (In medieval times unmarried women were conventionally depicted with long hair and floral garlands and married women with head-dresses).
