Due to lack of use, unfortunately it has become too big a task and no longer viable to maintain the constant monitoring which is required to sift through the hundreds of spam comments received every day in case there is a genuine comment amongst them. This is in addition to hundreds more spam comments received which are detected and sent straight to the spam folder – a total, on average, of 1000 a day.

It would be a different situation if the Forum was used on a regular basis to discuss local matters, but that is no longer the case, as interest in the Forum is obviously simply not there, and the time has come when we must call it a day and let common sense rule. The advent of Twitter, Facebook and the plethora of social networking sites which offer virtually instant responses makes this type of forum obsolete and of little perceived value to the community, adequately demonstrated by its lack of use.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our many discussions, and we hope it provided a platform for the debate of many aspects of Northwood life.

Until the Forum can be removed from the website, this message will remain visible but comments will no longer be accepted for moderation nor posted.
