NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP REPORT

As stated in our last report, we had a very interesting and enjoyable visit from Debbie Flux and Angel, from Canine Partners, showing us all how a lovely dog can transform a person’s life. Debbie demonstrated how the dogs are trained to do many, many things, such as unloading the washing machine, getting items from a cupboard, taking off a person’s hat and gloves, bringing their shoes to them and many other jobs. It was so lovely to be able to make a fuss of Angel and she enjoyed every minute. This training takes many months to enable the dog to be of immense help and bring back some form of independence to a person.

At the present moment we are waiting to hear if we have been given a grant to enable us to carry on with these events. Hopefully we will have some news in the near future.

The Northwood Village Produce Association’s ANNUAL SHOW is on Saturday 23rd August 2014 at 2pm in the W.I. Hall, Northwood.
