Minutes of the Planning Meeting of Northwood Parish Council, held in Northwood Primary School, Wyatts Lane, Northwood, Isle of Wight on Tuesday, 17 March 2015
Present: Councillors David Jaggar (Chairman), Malcolm Nicholson, Chris Riddet, Derek Smith
There were no members of the public present
9/14-15 To receive and approve any apologies for absence
Apologies had been received from Cllrs Paul Fuller, John Nicholson, John Pullen and John Ward and the clerk, Mrs Barbara Herbert
10/14-15 Declarations of Interest
Cllr Jaggar declared a personal and prejudicial interest in Minute No 12/14-15 i. 2 The Dell, Medham, being the Chairman of Medham Management Ltd. The Board, had on 22 February given its approval to the application TCP/32182, pursuant to the transfer of properties covenants (consent not to be unreasonably withheld). In addition, the applicant, a solicitor, was undertaking some work for Medham Management Ltd. This he offered to do some days after the decision had been taken.
11/14-15 To confirm and authorise the Chairman to sign the Minutes of the meeting held on 15 July 2015
RESOLVED :
THAT the Minutes of the meeting held on 15 July 2015 be confirmed and the Chairman authorised to sign them on behalf of the Parish Council.
12/14-15 Town and Country Planning
To consider the following planning applications received and make comments in accordance with the guidance for material planning considerations listed at

Cllr Jaggar having declared a personal and prejudicial interest in the following item of business withdrew from the meeting forum and took no part in the discussion or decision thereon. Cllr Riddet took the chair.
I. TCP/32182 2 The Dell, Medham – Demolition of conservatory; proposed alterations; single storey extension on rear elevation and two storey extension on front elevation to provide additional living accommodation; single storey extension to enlarge existing garage
RESOLVED :
THAT Northwood Parish Council supports the application TCP/32182 at 2 The Dell, Medham
Cllr Jaggar returned to the meeting forum and resumed the chair.
ii. TCP/27600/E land at Nodes Farm, Nodes Road, Northwood – Proposed extension to existing lattice mast to give total mast height of 22.3m; replacement of 3 no. antennas; installation of 3 no dishes; associated ancillary works
RESOLVED :
THAT Northwood Parish Council raises no material planning objections with respect to the application TCP/27600/E land at Nodes Farm, Nodes Road, Northwood
iii. TCP/30858/B land north of units 27 to 32, Somerton Industrial Park, Newport Road, Northwood – Continued use of land as scaffold yard
RESOLVED :
THAT although Northwood Parish Council raises no material planning objections in respect of the application TCP/30858/B land north of units 27 to 32, at Somerton Industrial Park, councillors suggest that there should be imposed on the grant two planning conditions. These being:
(i) A substantial fence to be erected around the perimeter of the site so as to mask the appearance of the development;
(ii) To require a properly formed entrance to the site.
