President Fay Bunday welcomed members to the meeting.

Birthday cards were distributed to the ladies whose birthdays fall in July. August’s birthday cards will be posted.

The committee are having a meeting next week to discuss the estimates for a new heating system as the one we have has been condemned. Hopefully the new system will be fitted in August.

Mrs Joan Hall read her report on the Annual Council Meeting held in May at the Medina Theatre.

Anne Jonas read out the relevant post, Elisabeth Hamilton assured us that finances were ticking over quite nicely and that we were expecting a rebate from Southern Electric.

Mary Chick gave an update of the hall. We hopefully have a new booking.

Northwood WI have a bursary of £100 for any fully subscribed member of Northwood WI to go towards a course at Denman College (The WI’s own College) or any course at the IOW Technical College. They do have to come back and tell us how they enjoyed their chosen course.

Arrangements were made for our Summer Fair on 4th July.
.
There is to be a meeting on the 30th July in the hall for all members to come along to discuss our programme for 2016.

Our Speaker Mrs Hazel Pullen gave a very interesting talk about World War One Men of Northwood. 48 of the men who died lived and worked in Northwood and the surrounding areas. There are 6 Plaques of commemoration in Northwood Church. There is a website – Commonwealth War Graves Commission which allows you to find out about your relatives who fought in the 1st World War..See that website

Elisabeth Hamilton gave the Vote of Thanks.

The next meeting will be on the 3rd September and the speaker is Mark Earp giving a talk on Eccentric Women of Wight. Competitions will be BGB and Unusual Candle.
