Chris Walker’s famous traditional Pedigree jazz band is without exception one of the finest in the UK and we are also delighted to present Anna Lauvergnac and her trio, who has come over from Italy especially for us! Her trio includes her Musical Director/Drummer Steve Brown, Nick Page (guitar), Jon Thorne (bass) and a guest appearance of Gary Plumley in the second set. This is an exceptional top quality jazz event and not to be missed. Anna Lauvergnac (look her up on the web) is one of the most gifted of continental jazz singers and will certainly enhance our celebration. If you tune in to Ian Mitchell’s jazz programme on Angel Radio on Tuesday afternoons then you may hear a lot more background about these concerts.
.
Briefly, the first concert (Chris Walker) will commence at 3pm – 5.30pm and Anna Lauvergnac at 6.30pm – 9pm. (There may be a short delay before the start of her concert owing to the changeover.)
.
Tickets: £10/£5 students for each concert. Please state preference when reserving your tickets, and we advise you that they are now selling well. If you would like to attend both concerts then a bargain dual ticket may be reserved for £16/£8. Please get your order to me by email w.g.wills@hotmail.co.uk or Tel: 01983 523879 – please don’t leave it too late for obvious reasons!
.
Before both concerts, in the bar area, Jean Toyne will be selling good quality Jazz LP albums at a very low price (£1 each) in aid of the Club. A lot of these are out of print and are a bargain.
.
The next Apollo production will be the delightful family comedy “The Kitchen Sink” by Tom Wells. 16th – 24th October. Box Office Tel: 01983 527267.

.
A highlight in October, “Return of the Alley Cats” – Gary Plumley is hosting this event in memory of Tom Moulton and in aid of the Epilepsy Society. Jazz funk fusion at its finest! See attached poster for details:
