Cowes-Deauville Twinning Association

To coincide with La Solitaire du Figaro yacht racing …

Our French guests arrive in Cowes on Thursday 23rd June and leave on Monday 27th June.

There will be a weekend of revelry with a reception at the Island Sailing Club on Friday 24th June.

Then a coach tour of the Island on Saturday 25th with visits to places of interest.

Thursday 23rd June
15.37: French arrive by Wightlink at Ryde Pier Head; Afternoon Free.

Friday 24th June
12.00: Island Sailing Club Reception. Afternoon free to explore Cowes.
19.00: Barrie’s soirée at Wootton.

Saturday 25th June
10.15: coach departs Northwood Park Coach Park, Park Road, Cowes.
Only one pick up point due to time constraints. Travel to Calbourne Mill.
12.00: depart Calbourne Mill for The Sun Inn, Calbourne for lunch.
13.30: depart The Sun Inn for Alum Bay. Members to select attractions.
15.00: depart Alum Bay to travel back to Cowes, via Military Road with short stops for viewing, if time permits.
16.00: arrive at Northwood Park, coach park.
19.00: Northwood House Community Hall Fish ‘n’ Chip Supper with entertainer.

Sunday 26th June
13.00: Free day to view the racing yachts departing Cowes. We may also be able to see the newly installed Deauville Plaque on the Parade.
19.00: New Holmwood Dinner.

Monday 27th June
12.47 (TBC): French depart by Wightlink at Ryde Pier Head for 14.45 departure of Brittany Ferries ferry from Portsmouth.
