Minutes of Northwood W.I. members’ meeting held on 4th February 2016 in Northwood W.I. Hall.

President – Mrs Fay Bunday welcomed members and visitors to the meeting. A warm welcome was given to Denise Hunter who hasn’t been able to attend for a while. Denise gave an update on her Mum’s progress.

February’s Birthday Ladies – are Josie White and Mary White.
.
Art & Craft – The next one will be on the 18th February.
.
Heating – Judeth Baker’s son, Simon came and sorted out the heating for us.
.
Jumble Sale – held on the 23rd January went off very well with lots of new people coming through the door.
.
90th Birthday Celebrations – Some 26 ladies attended the celebrations at the Holmwood Hotel which went off extremely well. The food and service was excellent. A card of thanks has been sent to the staff at the hotel.

Secretary’s Report – Several thank you cards have been received from various WI’s invited to our 90th Birthday. A leaflet from the IOW Scottish Fiddlers. Email from a complimentary therapist and a thank you note from Andrew Hamilton thanking us for his Christmas Gift.

Treasurer’s Report – Elisabeth Hamilton read out the finances. We made £131.90 at the Jumble Sale.

Hall Report – Mary Chick said that bookings were coming in steadily.

Table Top Sale – Is on the 27th February, in the hall starting at 2pm. Volunteers were asked for and several members put their names forward.

Lunch & Games – will be held on the 17th March. The menu is a choice between homemade Fish Pie and a homemade Cottage Pie with vegetables. Choose a sweet on the day. Cost is £7. 50. Time 12 for 12.30pm.
.
Outing on 11th May 2016 – to Chichester and Chichester Canal with a cream tea on board and time to browse around Chichester. The cost is £33. Leave the hall at 8am and returning at approximately 8.30pm.

Rambles – Will hopefully resume on the 10th March weather permitting.

Solent Group Meeting – Is being held on Tuesday 23rd February in the hall.

Competition Results – Elisabeth Hamilton won both the BGB and Rock Cakes.
.
Unfortunately due to illness the speaker for the afternoon was unable to attend, so we had a quiz instead.
.
With no other business the meeting closed at 4pm.
