NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP REPORT

At our June Residents Event, we had a very interesting talk by Mrs Pam Simpson entitled “Flowers of the Sea”. The `flowers’ were Seaweed. Pam showed us many different species that she has collected, most of which can be found round our coastline. She also explained that Seaweed is used in a lot of food extracts.

As you may have noticed as you go round the village, all the troughs and pots are full of flowers. We extend our grateful thanks for the help received in planting from several residents.

At our next Residents event in July, we are having a talk by Nicola Cooke on the work and activities of Haylands Farm.

At the August Residents Event, Mrs Hazel Pullen is coming to give us information on “The Men of Northwood and Gurnard” during the war.
