Minutes of the Members’ Meeting held on the 2nd February 2017 in Northwood W.I. Hall.

President – Mrs Fay Bunday, welcomed Members to the meeting, also our speaker for the afternoon – Mrs Mary Cass – Bee Keeper.
.
Apologies – were received from Morag Cook.
.
Minutes – of the last meeting were signed.
.
Art Classes – Which Susan Whittle and Anne Cousins have kindly offered to hold at their home starts next week on Thursday and Friday mornings, 10am till 12noon. Anyone wishing to go are most welcome.
.
Art & Craft Classes – Being held on, usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month, ideas as to what to make would be welcome..The next one will be on the 16th February at 2pm.
.
Ramble – Instead of a ramble, some members are going to Busy Bee for Lunch. This will be on 9th February meeting at the hall at 11am to arrange lifts.
.
Chessel Pottery – There will be an outing to Chessel Pottery on the 20th April to design some pottery and have a cream tea. A list was sent round for members to put their names down. Several cars will be taken.
.
Birthday Lunch – Will be held on the 11th May at the Holmwood Hotel. A list was sent round for members to put their names down
Lists were also sent round for volunteers to run the raffle and wash up the tea items.
.
The Charity – for this year, will be the British Heart Foundation (IOW).
.
The Secretary, treasurer and hall reports were all given.
.
Thanks were given to Morag Cook who has organised the repairs to the damage in the kitchen after a party just before Christmas. The repairs will be carried out during the next fortnight.
.
Speakers and Visitors – Will be welcomed by Mary Chick and June Thistlewood.
.
Mrs Mary Cass gave us a very interesting talk with slides of her time of Bee keeping..On how the wax is extracted to make polish. Also all the different types of Honey produced by her bees from hives at several sites on the Island. The vote of thanks was given by Elisabeth Hamilton.

The raffle was then drawn and the competition for a Valentines Card was won by June Thistlewood. There were no blooms.
.
The Cups for the competitions for the Best Garden Bloom and competitions were both won by Elisabeth Hamilton.
.
The next meeting will be on the 2nd March. The Speaker will be Judith Morgan – RNLI Guild fundraising and Friends of Inshore Lifeboat operations. Competitions are for the Prettiest Necklace and Best Garden Bloom.

With no other business the meeting closed at 3.50pm.
