1st Northwood Scout Hut is in Wyatts Lane.
No doubt you have seen it, but do you know what really happens in a scout group?
Firstly, scouting is open to both boys AND girls!!
Secondly, you can join a scout group when you are 6 years old and go all the way through until you are 19.
As an adult you can become a helper or leader and become a member of a worldwide scout fellowship.
Scouting is the largest worldwide youth organisation.
Scouting activities are many and varied, including learning outdoor skills, leadership training, gaining confidence and becoming good and responsible citizens but most of all HAVING FUN!
Scouts have the opportunity to travel abroad and meet new people.
Everyone respects a scout.
In order to maintain an active and well supplied group, adult help is needed.
The Scout Association has over 100,000 adult volunteers across the UK.
They provide support to young people and other adults in a range of different roles.
But while they are doing this, they are also making new friends, trying new things, developing their own skills, enhancing their CVs and having fun.
As well as working directly with young people as a leader or a helper, we have roles as managers, administrators, fundraisers, work in maintaining the scout premises and equipment, training advisers, media development managers and many more.
If you are interested in joining our group contact Colin Cundall on 01983 293826.
If you just want to meet the group and have fun doing it, why not come along to our
SCOUTING FAMILY FUN DAY ON SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER
STARTING AT 12 NOON
We would love to see you. Why not do something that involves all the family!
