Cowes-Deauville Twinning Association

Ten members of the Association travelled on the early morning ferry to France, where we booked into our hotel in time to go out for lunch. Some of the party then visited Mont St Michel before staying overnight after a lovely evening meal.

On the next day we visited the Pegasus Bridge museum with lunch out at the local cafe before travelling to Deauville and meeting our hosts. After a drinks reception with the Mayor at Deauville, we returned for dinner with our hosts.

On Saturday, we had a coach trip out to Le Havre where we walked in the beautiful gardens, before lunch and a visit to a Mariner’s museum. Sunday saw a later start, with a trip to a local chateau where the ladies had prepared a superb picnic in the Orangery. The day ended with a superb final meal at a local restaurant. We then returned on a very early morning ferry.
