A new series of guided tours for summer 2007 called ‘Doorstep Medina’ has been organised by Island 2000. They are designed to celebrate ‘the heritage and natural history of the Medina Valley’.
All tours are free of charge but booking is required as numbers are restricted. Contact Island 2000 on 298098 or email suzie@island2000.org.uk

Thursday 21 June, 6pm
Medina at Midsummer
Travel down the Medina in style on Midsummer’s Eve with Solent & Wightline Cruises. An hour’s trip up to the Folly and around the coast of East Cowes.
Meet at the Fountain Quay, Cowes (next to Red Jet terminal).
Monday 23 July, 11am
Estuary on 2 Wheels
Get the school holidays off to a healthy start and join us for a family friendly bike ride along the Cowes-Newport cycle track. Gentle pace with stops along the way, ending at Newport Quay.
Meet at the entrance to the cycle track, Arctic Road, Cowes.
Monday 20 August, 2pm
Medina Canoe Safari
Explore the Medina from a completely new perspective. Trained instructors will guide you up the river in family friendly Canadian canoes for an afternoon on the water.
Meet at Medina Vally Centre, Dodnor Lane.
Friday 14 September, 7 pm
Bats by the estuary
A family friendly walk at dusk lead by a countryside ranger. Use bat detectors and night vision equipment to see wildlife. Bring a torch. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Meet at Medina Riverside Park.
