At our June meeting on Thursday 7th June 2012 some of our ladies braved the rain to plant a tree in our garden (Snowy Mespilus – Amelanchier Ballerina) in commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee where a County Press reporter came and took some photos.
.
The husband of one of our members also came and took some photos (these are on display in our section on this website).
.
The Hall looked very festive with bunting around and red, white and blue flowers on the tables.
.
After the business all enjoyed a lovely Jubilee tea, including a cake with the Union Jack made out of fruit on the top.
.
Our speaker was Jack Liddiard MBE who gave an interesting talk on his time as an evacuee during the war.
