NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP REPORT
(Eileen Turner-Palmerton, Secretary)
The Residents Event, held at the W.I. Hall on the third Wednesday in each month, continues to grow and flourish. It has certainly helped to build friendships, given a chance to enjoy some good company and given a good reason to be away from the house from 2.30 – 4.30pm. The next date for your diary is 20th APRIL 2011.
For those with mobility issues, transport remains available at no cost (phone 01983 292060 or 01983 282242).
Best of all, the application made to the Cooperative Community fund was successful. With no statutory funding for the Community Partnership, this award ensures the Residents Event can continue for many months to come.
It is hoped that during the summer there will be an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon’s trip to an Island attraction. Where exactly, will be the residents’ choice.
MARRIAGE OF PRINCE WILLIAM and KATE MIDDLETON
To mark the Royal marriage, there is to be a Village Party organised in association with the 1st Northwood Scout Group. It will be held in the grounds of the Scout Hall in Wyatts Lane on Saturday 30th April 2011 from 2pm – 8pm. All villagers, their families, visitors and guests are invited. Details are still in the course of being finalised but at the time of going to press they include:
Games for all ages. Fancy Dress.
Bouncy Castle. Competitions. Entertainment.
Bring a Picnic and a chair or blanket to sit on.
BBQ facilities and hot & cold drinks available.
Partial sponsorship has already been obtained
but the more there is the more can happen on the day.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share in this ‘one-off ’ Event.
Come along to the Scout Hall grounds on the 30th April.
Bring everyone with you and enjoy the day!
