FRIENDS OF NORTHWOOD CHURCH
2nd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
11th June 2010 at St John the Baptist Church, Chawton Lane, Northwood
1. The President (The Rector, the Revd. Lyn McRostie) opened the meeting. She handed over to the Chair, Jay Shipley, after thanking her for her sterling contribution to the Friends throughout the year.

Approved with no objections.
4. Matters arising
None.
5. Chairman’s Report
The Chairman presented her Report summarising the activities of FoNCh during the previous year. Four fund-raising events were organised : the Photographic Competition and Calendar ; a sponsored walk (20th June 2009) in conjunction with the Friends of Northwood Cemetery ; a Quiz Night at the WI Hall and a Race Night which unfortunately had to be cancelled. The Photographic Competition had been well supported and monies raised from the sale of calendars. She thanked Peter and Pat Lambert, Jill and Roger Mazillius, Mary Chick and Jacquie Pearce and everyone who had supported these events. Entries for this year’s Photographic Competition are already arriving. The closing date is 30th June which will enable the calendars to be available from August 2010. Entrants have identified the locations of the photographs and this information will be on the 2011 calendars.
6. Financial Report and Accounts
The position of Treasurer being vacant, the Chairman presented the accounts up to the end of April 2010. A very generous donation has been recently made to FoNCh and whilst this will appear in next year's accounts, thanks should be made now.
The monthly standing order payments by life members offer a regular income. The Rector thanked Jay for preparing the accounts which were approved by the meeting (Prop. John Reynolds, Sec. Jacquie Pearce, carried).
7. Election of Officers

8. Any Other Business
Suggestions for fund-raising ideas were discussed. These included a Jacobean themed event to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible with historic food; musical entertainment and inviting local schools to take part in related projects.
9. Date of next Annual General Meeting
Friday 10th June 2011 at 7 p.m.
The President thanked Jay for her contribution throughout the year and closed the meeting, thanking all who had taken part.
