WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
A celebration for everyone
Each year women from a different country prepare a service to be used all over the world. This year it is the turn of the Christian women of Guyana, “a country of exceptional beauty, perched on the north-east corner of South America”. They have given their service the theme of ‘God’s wisdom provides new understanding’.
The service here will be at Cowes Baptist Church on Friday 7th March and is being led and organised by Christian women in Cowes. It will start at 11.00am and this year’s Speaker will be Doreen Drake.
Following the service there will be a ‘bring and share’ lunch to which everyone will be welcome. Contributions may be left in the hall as people arrive. There will also be a Traidcraft stall with fairly-traded goods and foodstuffs.
Although this is called the Women’s Day of Prayer it is not exclusive and men will be warmly welcomed.
