WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
A celebration for everyone

Each year women from a different country prepare a service to be used all over the world.  This year it is the turn of the Christian women of Papua New Guinea, “a mountain of gold floating on a sea of oil”.  It is full of natural resources, and 96% of its population is Christian. The service has the theme ‘In Christ there are many members yet one body’.

There will be a service at All Saints Church, Gurnard on Friday 6th March which is being led and organised by Christian women in Cowes, Northwood and Gurnard.  It will start at 11am and this year’s Speaker will be Gill Murray who is a Church of England Lay Minister in Cowes.

Following the service there will be a ‘bring and share’ lunch to which everyone will be welcome.  There will also be a Traidcraft stall with fairly-traded goods and foodstuffs.

Although this is called the Women’s day of prayer it is not exclusive and men will be warmly welcomed.
