Antique and Collector’s Fair in aid of Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

HELP US HELP LOCAL PEOPLE WITH MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE (MND)!
We've just experienced a dismal Summer keeping most of us indoors unable to do things we would normally like to do this time of year. Can you image what life is like when you are unable to do everyday things day in day out? This is what happens to a person with MND. Even the things we all take for granted – walking, talking, lifting up a glass – are gradually denied people with MND as the disease takes hold. There is currently no cure!
The Isle of Wight branch of the MND Association is committed to helping local people and their families to make the major adjustment that MND forces upon them. Our funds can make all the difference – with aids around the home; support for the family or just being there to talk.
Two local members of the branch committee – Doreen Gant and Jennie Lewis – have first-hand experience, having lost their cherished mother to this disease in March 2002. For the last five years they have organised a fund-raising Antique and Collector's fair in her memory and this year 'Mum's Memory Day' is on Sunday 12th October 2008.
Admission £1.50 for adults; accompanied children free.
All the proceeds from the door takings will go to the IOW branch of MND to help the local people on the IOW who currently have MND.
Other members of the MND Committee will be there too with their usual range of gifts and Christmas Cards – again monies raised will go to Isle of Wight MND branch
Like to know the value of something? Island Auction Rooms will be on hand between 10.30am – 12.30pm and for a donation to MND will value your item.
