JAZZ AT THE QUAY – TONIGHT

“TRIBUTE TO BILL EVANS”
The Phoenix Jazz Ensemble, top Island jazz exponents, present “A Tribute to Bill Evans”, in recognition of one of their major influences. The swinging rhythm section of Peter Trueman (piano), Mike Whitehead (bass) and Bill Wills (drums) will back exciting jazz vocalist Nette Robinson and driving tenor saxophonist Roger Mason in performing many of Evans’ own compositions, supported by original material and biographical narrative. A must for all Island jazz fans, especially those who appreciate the impact that Evans made on the history of 20th Century jazz.
The start time will be 8.00pm. It is a "Jazz Cafe" and you can order a meal from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. The event will be videoed on the night and a DVD will be issued later.
