Newport Jazz Club – Jazz at the Apollo

Ladies and gentlemen.

For the next concert Newport Jazz Club is proud to present the much-acclaimed Dennis Rollins Velocity Trio at the Apollo Theatre on Sunday 19th March at 3pm – 5.30pm (See poster below).

However, due to circumstances beyond our control, it is regretted that Pedro Segundo cannot appear.

His place will be taken by Tim Carter.

Tim is a drummer, guitarist, educator and composer based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. From his early teens he played in the Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra and during that time he received various awards including an outstanding performance award at the National Festival of Music. In 2008 Tim moved north to study drums at Leeds College of Music graduating in 2011 with first class honours. A versatile and exciting exponent of the drums he draws his influences from such pioneers as Jimmy Cobb, Max Roach, Brian Blade, Bill Stewart, Ari Hoenig and Eric Harland.
