With the addition of mulled wine and mince pies at our Carols by Candlelight service and with the help from our readers it proved once again to be an uplifting yet reflective service. The Christmas Eve crib service was also well attended with children playing Pass the Parcel, creating a nativity scene and then singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles!
.
As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for the support of Roger and Claire Whatley (especially his return on Christmas Day as organist) and to Rev’d Canon Graham Fuller and Rev’d Dennis Lloyd and of course our very own Rev’d Di Netherway.
.
Now that the celebration of Christ’s birth is coming to an end we begin to plan for 2013. We have an exciting time ahead of us as we begin to prepare for the licensing of our new priest-in-charge Amanda Collinson. Together with her husband James and two children we look forward to their arrival and their work with us. We continue to pray for the Collinson family at this time and look forward to a very busy new year with them.
.
A service will be held for Amanda’s licensing – and due to the number of expected congregation it will be held in All Saints Church, Gurnard on the 10th February at 3.00pm and then a welcoming service at Northwood Parish Church on the 17th February at 10.30am followed by refreshments at the W.I. Hall Northwood. We hope to see you there to encourage and support Amanda and her family.
.
It only remains for me to wish you all a very Happy and prosperous New Year.
