Hello everybody,

I am delighted to be coming soon to be priest-in-charge. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you all. Meanwhile, I expect that you are curious about me – I know that I am about all of you – so let me tell you a little now.

I was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1950; my brother and my two sisters still live in Australia with their families. I came to England in 1980, having in the meantime travelled around Australia, worked for the Civil Service and obtained a history degree. In London I worked initially for an international aid agency and then spent 17 years in the oil industry, mainly working in finance and accounting. I still enjoy travelling.

I began training for the ordained ministry in 1995. I studied part-time at Salisbury while still commuting to London from my home in Hampshire. I continued working at my day job until I finished my training. I was ordained deacon in 1998, priest in 1999 and have served my curacy in the parish of St Cuthbert, Copnor where I was involved in its building project. I then moved to London where I have been working in the East End, initially as a parish priest and more recently training people preparing to be clergy.

As a priest I have been particularly interested in the healing ministry, prayer, worship and the place of the church in the local community. I have an MA in Church and Community studies and I am looking forward to working with you on how the church may engage more with your different communities.

Now I await my move with great eagerness and excitement. The next months will pass very quickly indeed. Please pray for me as I am praying for you. I look forward to being with you, meeting you at my licensing and to sharing with you all in the life and ministry of the church.

Yours in Christ

Lyn McRostie
