NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP REPORT

After the ‘cashing up’ process from the Royal Wedding Party, we are delighted to announce that a sum of £92 has been donated to our village Scout Group funds. A further amount is to be held over to assist next year’s Royal Jubilee Event.
At the last Partnership Meeting, it was agreed that there were still enough funds to sponsor our ‘Northwood Village in Bloom’. As ever, this is probably the only competition where there is no application to fill in. The ‘Northwood Gnomes’ will just wander around and make their recommendations. Not the easiest of jobs given that there are so many wonderful gardens from which to choose winners.
The village planters are now, as promised, filled with summer plants. Thanks are offered to the Northwood Parish Councillors and local residents who took on this task on our behalf.
It is however, sad to report that there has been criminal damage caused to some of the planters in Nodes Road. Our village is well known for its floral displays and this behaviour is not welcomed by any of us. If you have any information regarding these actions, please contact the police by ’phoning 101.
As promised, there is a coach trip to Ventnor Botanical Gardens for all. See below for details. This will be a great outing mostly funded by our recent grant from the Cooperative Society. As a consequence the next Residents Event is on Wednesday 17th August at the W.I. Hall, from 2.30 – 4.30pm.
Finally, a reminder that the next Partnership meeting will be on Tuesday 26th July then on Tuesday 27th September. Both meetings at the W.I. Hall, commencing at 7.45pm.
