We have secured substantial funding and commenced the production of a Parish Plan for Northwood.
This Plan will capture how we, the community, wish our village to develop. We need and encourage input from as many local residents and interested parties as possible. To this end, there will be an initial
PUBLIC CONSULTATION
THURSDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2006
NORTHWOOD W.I. HALL (Newport Road) from 5pm – 8pm
Photographs taken by village residents, together with ideas for the Plan, will be on display. The evening is an ideal opportunity to raise any issues or most importantly to share your ideas for the village future. You are also welcome to judge the photographs taken by those people who responded to the previously advertised ‘Camera Initiative’.
It will be really great if everyone within Northwood could spare 5 to 10 minutes during the evening to ‘pop in’ and see for themselves.
Over the winter months we anticipate distributing questionnaires to all Northwood households in order to obtain the level of support for ideas on the future of our village.
Based on the feedback received from these questionnaires, a Draft Plan will be compiled and a further consultation held. So, please make a real effort to visit the W.I. Hall on the 9th November. It’s your village, your community, so get involved and make a difference!
We were pleased to welcome P.C. Mark Thomas to the Community Partnership meeting held on 25th September. Mark really has given as much assistance as possible to keep our village safe for everyone. He made the point that if anyone knows or sees anything that could require police action, it must be reported and an incident number obtained. The number to call is 0845 0454545. If the matter is urgent 999. It’s not someone else’s problem – it’s ours!
Mark also said he was prepared to make a personal call on elderly residents who may have concerns about crime.
Members of the Committee put in a great deal of effort for ‘Calor Village of the Year’. Unfortunately we didn’t win (again!).
Returning to future ideas – these are some of the suggestions from members:
Village Map. A further village sign in Pallance Road. Village Trail. Upgraded Bus Shelters. Welcome Pack and a ‘No Cold Calling’ Zone.
Ron Willis, on behalf of the Northwood Gnomes, has been allocated £200 for winter plants. Our village benefits greatly from the Gnomes’ efforts and we thank them all.
We would be very pleased to see everyone at our Partnership Meetings. We aren’t a collection of houses, we are a community. Why not join in and keep it that way?
