Press Release – Cowes-Deauville Twinning Association – Possible End To Association

Cowes and Deauville are both world-class centres for yacht racing and both host world-class sailing competitions and so it was unsurprising that 56 years ago both towns formed a very successful twinning arrangement.
.
Many joint group ventures followed, including cultural exchanges between schools from both towns, and many visits have taken place over the years with members of each group hosting the other. This has resulted in some deep friendships being formed during this time.
.
Any organisation is dependent upon new blood and energy and over the 56 years of its life, many people have served the association to ensure that those all-important cultural exchanges continued. Sadly, the past few years’ membership has reduced, so much so that without new members, the Association will end.

Are you interested in joining to save the Cowes-Deauville Twinning Association? Ending the Association will be a great cultural loss to Cowes and to Deauville and so we are urgently seeking new members.
