Following two previously successful years, our club is again organising a weekend of St George's Day celebrations.

This event will take place at Northwood House in Cowes over the weekend of 21st and 22nd April 2007.

The main features include an international standard concert given by the band of the Royal British Legion, at the arena in the Cowes Yacht Haven on the Friday evening (20th April). On our behalf, Mr Bob Milner at is the organiser.
On the Saturday, there will be a St George's Day procession complete with St George and the Dragon, from East Cowes to Northwood House.
There will be a fancy dress competition, re-enactments, children's country dancing and an art competition for schools. The Wolfguard Viking group will be in attendance.
On Sunday there will be a large classic car and bike display, with over 100 vehicles and an antique collectibles fair.

All over the weekend, there will be local arts and crafts stalls, children's amusements, story tellers, Randini's Magic show and there's also a Teddy parachute drop.
Traditional refreshments will include St George's Ale and a selection of different foods.

Entrance is FREE and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

The event is being held to celebrate England's Patron Saint, St George and increase awareness of the work of Rotary as well as raising funds for local charities.

More information is available from the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Cowes, Mr Barry Myland, on 01983 280839 or by visiting our website:  where up-to-date information and images from last year's celebration can be seen.
