By a very round-about way I arrived at your website today while doing some further research on my Family History.
.
John DAVIDGE married Mary GILBERT 14 Feb 1825 Whippingham, Hampshire.
.
I have yet to discover where John was born or baptised as he died before the 1841 Census.
.
After her husband died, his widow Mary appears in the 1841 Census of Whippingham as a Baker.
.
However by 1861 Mary DAVIDGE, still a widow is the Toll Gate Keeper at West Cowes Tollgate, Northwood, Isle of Wight, Hampshire and in 1871 she is at Debourne Toll House, Northwood, Isle of Wight, Hampshire, still a Toll Gate Keeper.
.
Mary DAVIDGE died age 72 in 1875 and is buried in Carisbrooke Cemetery.
