First Northwood Scout Group

First Northwood Scout Group is very popular and active, and we are very proud of our youth members and their leaders. The scouting movement relies on volunteers. In order to maintain our hall and grounds, the group has to raise approximately £4,000 each year. A small fraction of this comes from the subscriptions our youth members pay each month but the vast majority is raised by fundraising.

One of our fundraising exercises is to allow scout groups and other youth organisations to use our hall and grounds during school holidays. Booking of the group camps, etc., relies on having a hall bookings secretary (or small committee). This person will communicate with the groups and make sure there is no double booking. Meeting and greeting the groups and receiving their payments COULD be part of the role but it doesn’t have to be.
