The meeting was attended by 45 members of the local community, and was followed by the quarterly public meeting of Northwood Community Partnership.

It was agreed by the members of public in attendance, that the Isle of Wight Council should:

Uphold their support for Emparishment;  Ensure the Parish Council would take in the whole of the Northwood Isle of Wight Electoral Division; Support that the Parish Council should comprise of 8 Parish Councillors, and there should be no separate wards within the Parish Council Boundary.

Until Emparishment, the Isle of Wight Council would appoint "interested members" of the local community to serve on a Management Committee.  Adverts would be placed in the Isle of Wight County Press on Friday 3rd and 10th March, whereby local people would be invited to apply in writing to serve upon the Committee, which would act as a Shadow Parish Council until elections.

Partnership Chairman, Paul Fuller stated "Northwood Community Partnership will continue to further the objectives of the local community, and following emparishment will continue to strengthen its community links by acting as the Development Arm for the Parish Council.  In the mean time the Partnership, would welcome the opportunity for prospective Parish Councillors to come forward and actively participate in the development of the Northwood Parish Plan".
