Minutes of the Members’ Meeting held on the 2nd March 2017 in Northwood W.I. Hall.

President – Mrs Bunday welcomed members to the meeting, plus two new members – Mrs Susan Whittle and Mrs Anne Cousins.
.
There was one apology.
.
Birthday Lady this month is Mrs Dorothy Prudham.
.
A visit to Chessel Pottery has been booked for 20th April to decorate certain types of pottery and for a cream tea.
The Art & Craft still continue on the 3rd Thursday in the month with some exceptions.
The Rambles will start again in April.

Secretary’s Report – Invoices for the damage to the kitchen are now with the Insurance Company. We have voting papers for IW Federation and National Federation. WI Life asking for stories for the magazine and an order form for 2018 diaries.

Treasurer’s Report – A cheque for £160 is being presented later in the afternoon to Cowes RNLI. We are waiting for the cheque from the Insurance Company.

Hall Report – Anne Jonas reported that bookings are coming in steadily. Unfortunately Kick boxing classes, held on Wednesdays have been cancelled due to lack of support.

Lunch at the College has been booked for Friday 24th March (This has subsequently been cancelled).
.
Our Birthday Lunch this year is being held in May at The New Holmwood Hotel.
.
An Outing is being arranged for August.
.
The Solent Group Meeting is being held on Tuesday 11th April in the hall. It will be a flower demonstration. £2 per ticket available from Judeth Baker or pay at the door.

Following our Break for tea, Judy Morgan, Chair of Cowes Guild RNLI gave an interesting talk on the Isle of Wight Lifeboats, fund raising history and Jennifer Hastings explained the role of education in the RNLI. Fay Bunday presented the cheque to Judy Morgan. The money was raised by members last year.

Competition results – Best Garden Bloom was Elisabeth Hamilton and for a Pretty necklace – 1st Helen Davies, 2nd Elisabeth Hamilton and 3rd Morag Cook.

The next meeting will be on Thursday 6th April and the speaker is Sonya Rimmer, Dementia Awareness.

The Competitions are for a decorated Chicken’s egg and Best Garden Bloom.

With no other business the meeting closed at 4pm.
