Our Speaker Mr Earp gave an excellent talk on The History of Ponds going back to the 1600s. We saw slides of various ponds still here on the Island and others diverted under roads. Interestingly he told us that our water comes from Switzerland to Otterborn, near Winchester then to us.
Thanks were given by Elisabeth and the meeting closed shortly after 4pm.
