PRESS RELEASE
Green light for St George thanks to Grassroots!

Cowes Rotary Club is delighted to announce that the popular St George’s weekend is set to continue in 2009 thanks to a Grassroots Grant from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation.

The grant, value £5,000, will be used to underwrite some of the costs incurred in staging the event which is scheduled to take place in Northwood Park on April 25/26th 2009.

The weekend will, as usual, commence with a top class concert in Cowes Yacht Haven on the evening of Friday 24th April and will have all sorts of things to entertain the whole family including a superb classic car display organised by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club.

The organisers state that in 2009 the emphasis will be on participation and encourage groups, particularly young people, to contact them via email  cowesrotary@hotmail.co.uk or through any Cowes Rotary Club member, with details of any topical performance they would like to stage at the event. In this way it is hoped to extend the enjoyment of the weekend to as wide an audience as possible.

Full details of the weekend will be published on the Club’s website www.cowesrotary.org in the period leading up to St George’s Day.
