Dream-created damozel,
limned in classic mode;
vaguely ethnic to comprise
attic dawn and Gallic noon.
Time, since Chian Glaucus wrought,
lost in complex folds:
draperies seduce the sight –
fancy’s apogee.
Tresses, bloom-sprigged whorls, present
eye-deceiving themes –
involute and sprightly. With
nimbus-backed design,
integral and thus, at once,
artful fantasy and foil.
From Kairos – Selected Poems No 1, a book of Mr Hudson’s poetry.
Kairos means “opportune moment”.
