Leave Quebec with thoughts of Wolfe,
travel coast to coast;
see the plans for royal guests,
made by loyal host.
North along the Gold-Rush track,
deep in Yukon State;
far away where Dawson folk
dream of ’ninety-eight.
North where men in lumber-camps,
brash and bold and hale;
fell the jack-pine’s resin’d wood
by the Klondike trail.
Turn to greet Saskatchewan,
southern roads to take;
tread where shores at Yellowknife
fringe the Great Slave Lake.
Learn the truth in Winnipeg,
Banff or Saskatoon;
fealty and pride of race,
auger well for June.
